About Us Reiki Federation Ireland
Reiki Federation Ireland was created from the desire to promote high standards of Reiki practice and to foster a National Reiki community, representative of all lineages of Reiki. It is open to anyone who has done a Reiki workshop in the presence of a Reiki Master/Teacher.
The idea for a Reiki Federation was conceived in 2002. Many people within the Reiki community felt the need to create an instrument where all voices of Reiki could be heard. This led to a National Reiki gathering in Portlaoise in 2002. At this meeting a volunteer committee was formed. They worked for a year to create a constitution and framework for Reiki Federation Ireland. The collective input from the meeting in Portlaoise provided the skeletal structure for the work that followed.
In November 2003, Reiki Federation Ireland was officially formed at the first AGM held in Mullingar. The federation has achieved a lot despite its young life. We have succeeded in getting reduced insurance premiums for our members. (See Benefits of Membership). Regular newsletters, a practitioner referral list, an annual social gathering and this web site are testament to our commitment to serve our members. We are delighted that the original dream held by members in the Reiki community for an inclusive federation has been realised.
RFI is a member of FICTA (Federation of Irish Complementary Therapy Associations) which represents the interests of complementary therapy associations to Government and other relevant agencies.
Reiki Federation Ireland is a national professional Reiki body, established in 2002 by a number of Reiki practitioners and teachers.
RFI is a non-profit making organisation set up to provide support for members and the public.

Brenda Darcy – Hon Secretary
Is a Reiki Masters and Offers Kinesiology & Reflexology Treatments. With over 20 years’ experience in different therapies and specializing in digestive issues / toxin elimination, I adapt each treatment to suit you so that you personally benefit from the very best I have to offer.
Therapies and Treatments
Kinesiology
Kinesiology looks at the whole body to identify where and what is causing dis-ease or ill health. Using muscle testing it discovers what the problem is and through various safe and proven techniques can bring the body back into balance holistically – ie physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Food Testing
The food we eat every day could be affecting us in many different ways – digestive problems, headaches, skin problems, low energy etc. In a one hour session, those foods are identified so that you leave with a plan that will get you back on track again.
Reflexology
The whole body is mapped out on the feet so when the feet are worked on, the whole body benefits with amazing results. Whatever you are looking for – uplifting and stimulating or relaxing and balancing, reflexology is the therapy to choose.

Gillian McNamara – Ex-Officio Committee Member
I am a Reiki Practitioner and teacher. I am based in Gorey in Wexford.
I have been part of the committee since 2008. I have been PRO and, a non -designated committee member. It is great working with a team of like-minded people.
I enjoy being involved in the promotion of Reiki in Ireland and also seeing it progress to being accepted as a complement to conventional medicine. This has been a huge body of work achieved by RFI over the last number of years. I am very proud to have been a part of that.

David Shier – Non-Designated Committee Member
I became interested in Reiki after a healing treatment for a severe back injury in 2003. This led me to completing a Reiki course in 2005, and a Practitioner course in 2006. I have practiced regularly and worked with Reiki, and now after retiring from a busy life of running our family restaurant with my wife Lisa “Corks Café & Winebar”, in Ashbourne, and also retiring from my role as one of the founding directors of the International Baseball Centre in Ashbourne I am now focusing on my journey with Reiki. I am delighted to be part of the Reiki Federation Ireland. I work from Ashbourne and provide Reiki for people and animals, in both hands on and distant healing.
