Reiki Federation Ireland at the Cancer Survivors Conference, Aviva Stadium, Dublin on 19th and 20th September 2014

Reiki Federation Ireland - Cancer Survivors ConferenceThe cancellation of " Your Health Show " in September this year gave RFI the opportunity to take a stand at the Cancer Survivor's Conference in the Aviva Stadium, Dublin, on the 19th and 20th September 2014. Two members of the committee had helped out at the FICTA Stand at the Conference last year, and thought it would be a good venue to introduce our therapy to a new audience - and so it proved to be!

We asked permission and were told we could have two people on the stand, which was on the balcony, overlooking the main gathering area, and when the general audience was attending the opening ceremonies in the Conference hall, we invited staff members - many of whom work with cancer survivors, or in administrative or voluntary capacity to come and try a Reiki treatment. Most of the people who came, over the two days of the Conference, to try our therapy for themselves, had very little experience of Reiki up to this time. We talked to lots of people about our therapy and many felt they could now recommend their clients to try Reiki for themselves.

Once the people attending the opening came back into the gathering and refreshment area, the announcement was made inviting everyone to try the various therapies , and from then until the show ended, people came in great numbers in between the various workshops on offer. Most of those we talked to had not tried Reiki before, but were very enthusiastic about our wonderful "new" therapy.

We spread the word throughout the two days, and treated a large number of people, including other stand holders - who availed of a quiet moment on their business, to sample ours. We had a very busy time - I think I managed to finish one cup of coffee over the two days - as word spread and interest grew in our treatments. Hopefully those of you practising all over the country will find new clients finding their way to you from the leaflets we distributed.

We both enjoyed sharing the Reiki message with new people - most of whom had a very positive outlook. We wish all of them a great life, and send them all good Reiki wishes.

Marie Guilfoyle
