Practical First Aid Course

Dear Member,

Following the RFI AGM on Saturday 5th April 2014, it was agreed that from March 2015 all Professional Members will include their current Basic First Aid Certificate with their Membership Renewal Form and Insurance Certificate.

RFI is requesting Professional Practising Members to complete a Basic First Aid Course within a year of being certified as a Reiki Practitioner. See the RFI website for details of Basic First Aid Courses.

The Irish Red Cross will facilitate a two day work shop in Practical First Aid. The second course will be on 17th and 18th of May 2014 with further courses to follow.

The cost is 75 euro for the two days and will take place in their branch in Fairview (St. Josephs Primary School). See directions attached

This course gives you a basic knowledge of first aid and at the end of the weekend the participants received a competence certificate. The certificate is valid for three years.

The course will cover:

• Accident Management
• Bleeding & Shock
• Fractures & Soft Tissue Injuries
• Burns
• Head Injuries
• Basic Life Support (CPR and how to treat a choking victim)
• Paediatric Emergencies
• Poisons and medical illnesses
